Our approach to tackling poverty
Passportplate Int’l ( Chikob Global Humanitarian Outreach ) is a Christian charity and fundraising , Support funding with over 10 years of experience in international development. We believe that poverty is not God’s plan, and an end to extreme poverty is possible.
We work directly, and/or alongside local partners and churches, in underserved communities in more than 50 countries to tackle complex poverty in three main ways:
Humanitarian response
We respond quickly to church project, disasters and conflicts, supporting those in greatest need throughout the recovery process.
Community development
We partner with local churches and organisations, mobilising resources and empowering communities to lift themselves out of poverty.
Advocacy and influencing
We help individuals and churches speak out on issues of poverty and injustice, and we challenge unjust policies and practices at a local, national and global level.
Key areas of focus
Transforming Communities through the local church
We work alongside local churches, equipping them to lead lasting change in their communities with local solutions.
Why does we work through the local church?
Extreme poverty impacts every aspect of a person’s life, devastating families, destroying local businesses, and draining communities of their resources and hope. This overwhelming reality is not God’s plan for our world.
We work through the local church in the world’s poorest countries because they know their communities best. The local church is best placed to recognise challenges and release people’s God-given potential to overcome them.
Transforming Communities is not about giving short-term aid. We train local churches to identify the resources they already have so that they can develop lasting solutions to the problem of poverty. This approach supports communities to rewrite their own stories and build a future filled with hope and opportunity.
